All passengers will be collected from the different hotels, to go to the station, The Cure that is our starting point.

We will arrive to the station, The Cure, where our naturalist guide will register the group in the office of the Galapagos National Park to get the permission to enter the crater.

We will return to the vehicle and drive to the northwest of the volcano, in the direction of the boiler, to give the start to our adventure. From here, we enter the crater of the Sierra Negra volcano, and we will start our tour to the mines, a journey that will take approximately one hour.

Enter the Sierra Negra volcano is an unforgettable experience that combines adventure and wonder. At the start of the hike, you'll be surrounded by a lush landscape that gradually transforms into a volcanic terrain arid and surreal. This visual contrast will accompany you throughout the tour.

As you descend, the imposing caldera is revealed, and the air is impregnated with a smell of sulfuric acid, while active fumaroles release volcanic gases. These gases are bright sulphur deposits around you, creating a fascinating and unique.

Each step connects you with the energy of the earth, feeling the heat under your feet and listening to the crackle of the active volcano. When you get to the viewpoints, the panoramic view of the caldera and the volcanic landscape is simply stunning.

As you progress, the bright colors of the sulfur deposits emerge, contrasting with the dark terrain, and creating a landscape almost from another planet. So, we have reached the mines of sulphur.

This scenery, with its vibrant yellow tones and textures whimsical, invites contemplation while the gases emerge from cracks, creating a mysterious fog. Our naturalist guide will share fascinating stories about the geology and ecology of the volcano. Then, we return to the Boiler, where we will be waiting for our vehicle.

Before returning to Puerto Villamil, we will visit a small farm where you can enjoy fresh fruits and interact with the local people and farm animals, thus contributing to the local economy. We will be back in Puerto Villamil at approximately 13:00 hours.
